“HARP” Refinance Program Extended Another Two Years

harpThe Federal Housing Finance Agency extended the Home Affordable Refinance Program (“HARP”) for another two-years.  It will how expire in December 2015.

– The loan must be owned or guaranteed by Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac.

– The mortgage can’t be one that was previously refinanced under HARP unless it is a Fannie Mae loan that was refinanced under HARP from March to May, 2009

– The Loan to Value ratio (loan balance as a percent of market value) must be greater than 80%.

– The Borrower must be current on their mortgage payments with no late payments in the last six months and no more than one late payment in the last 12 months
