As a follow-up to last week’s blog about Birmingham’s best ZIP codes for home prices since 2007, here is information about the worst performing ZIP codes since 2007. These are from a follow-up article from the Birmingham Business Journal.
The list of the worst ZIPs for house prices since include some of the most aflluent areas of town, including Mountain Brook.
In comparing this list with the best performing areas, the trend seems to indicate that the best performing areas are along the perimeter of Jefferson and Shelby Counties, including the I-20/59 corridor, while some of the worst performing areas were in heavily developed areas.
