Market Trends has released their report on the Birmingham real estate market for the month of October 2012.
Total dollar sales increased 19% versus last year, while the number of houses increased only 2% versus last year.
Total inventory (houses available for sale) is 15% lower than October of last year. At the current sales pace, it would take 9 months for all the houses to sell (versus 12 months at this time last year).
The average days on market (time it takes to sell) for used homes is still right around 5 months, so as long as your house is priced right it should move in less than 6 months.
