Market Trends has released their update on the Birmingham real estate market for the month of February 2015. We summarize the highlights below.
The total dollar sales for the month of February increased 18% versus last February. The total number of houses sold was up 6% versus last February.
The total number of houses available for sale was down about 7% versus last year. At the current sales pace, there is a 7 month supply of houses on the market, versus 8 months last year.
The average time it takes to get a contract for used homes (“days on market”) was 131 in February, or about 4 1/2 months.
