Market Trends has released their report on the Birmingham real estate market, with results included for the month of March 2016. We review the highlights here.
So far this year, the amount of houses available for sale is down, while prices are staying pretty level with last years. Total dollar sales were about 2% below March of 2015, while the number of houses sold was up very slightly from last year (used houses sales were actually down slightly from last year).
The total inventory (houses available for sale) was down from last year by about 2%. At the current sales pace, there is a 7 month supply of used houses on the market, which is the same as last year. (This can of course vary significantly depending on the specific area.)
The average days on market (days until a house goes under contract) for used houses was 128 in March, or a little over 4 months.
