Market Trends has released their report on the Birmingham real estate market for the month of September 2015. We cover the highlights here.
Total real estate dollar sales decreased 3% versus September 2014, while the number of houses sold also decreased 3% versus last year. This indicates that prices have flattened.
The total number of houses available for sale (“inventory”) is about flat with last year. At the current sales pace, there is an 8 month supply of houses on the market. This is about even with last year.
The average days on market for used homes (days until getting a sales contract signed) was 120 in September, or about 4 months.
