Market Trends has released their update on Birmingham real estate for the month of October 2013.
Total dollar sales increased 12% versus October of last year, while the total number of homes sold since last October was up 9%.
There are currently 8 months worth of houses for sale on the market, meaning at the current sales pace it would take 8 months for them all to sell (note that this statistic can vary wildly based on the specific area of town).
The average days on market (time it takes to sell) for used homes was 135 in October. This indicates that if your house is priced “well” (or “correctly”), it will sell in about 4.5 months.
The average sold used home price in Birmingham was $161,600 in October. This has been steadily increasing during this year, although it is down from last month (September) at $177,889.
