The Alabama Center for Real Estate has released their report on the Birmingham real estate market for the month of November 2017. We cover the highlights here.
The total number of houses sold in November increased by about 7%. The median (middle) sales price was just slightly down versus this time last year. The median sales price for the month was $189,950.
The average days on market (days until a house is under contract) for November was 68 days, which was a big decline from 78 days last year.
Meanwhile, the total inventory (number of houses available for sale on the market), was down by 10% from November 2016 (this has been a continuing trend).
At the current pace of sales, there is a 5.1 month supply of houses on the market, down from 6.0 months last year.
