Market Trends has released their report on the Birmingham real estate market for the month of July 2014. We cover some of the highlights below.
Total dollar sales were up 5% versus last July, while total unit sales were also up 5% versus last July. For used homes, total sales were up about 6%.
Total inventory (the number of houses available to sale on the market) was down by 9% versus last year. Based on the current sales pace, there is a 8 month supply of used homes on the market. As always, this is the overall number and these figures can vary widely by specific markets.
The average days on market (days it takes to get a contract) for used homes was 127 in July, or about 4.5 months.
The average price for all homes as been up steadily for the last year.
