According to CoreLogic, Alabama home prices had the steepest decline in the nation for the month of June. When including foreclosures, home prices fell 4.8%. When not including foreclosures, home prices fell 3.1%. These are both huge declines for a single month.
In Birmingham, “fortunately” prices fell only 1.3% in June, which is still more than a 15% annual decline if that trend were to continue. The declines do seem to be occurring at a decreasing rate, which is good.
